LCD vs CRT picture qualety...

i have been on the market for a new monitor for a long time and i just bought a new ibm 19" CRT monitor...and its verry nice but it looks kind of blurry and has fairly bad convergence(fuzzy red/green lines on what are uposed to be sharp edges)and im going to exchange it for a the same thing because i think its slightly defective...

but iv read MANY articals saying that ether one is better than the other for many reasons...and iv seen some crts than look better than lcd and vica vercia....

i bought the crt one because it was cheep...and im poor...

so now im confused on wich type has the better picture and wether or not to return the monitor i just bought and gather my thoughts again...

what do you guys think ...from your own experiances which type do you think has a supirior picture??

AFAIK which is very, very little :D With CRT's you should get one with the highest possible frequency for your own health (100+ MHz). [That is re: flickering that affects the brain.] And might also affect games re: refresh rate!?! Also check the dot pitch re: visual quality for Hi-D. I think the 19" screens give you an 18" visual area. Though that might depend upon whether it's flat screen or not. I think CRT's use more power & create more heat & magnetic field* (had a mindblock for the term) area. CRT's are obviously much heavier & take up much more space.

With LCD's, their pixels will die off one by one over time. Some faster than others. Beware of the cheapest ones. See what their claims are for pixel loss & what their warranty offers. If you consider an LCD, do as much research as possible to find reports of pixel loss, etc. Find both reviews & user feedback.
The newish apple monitors use 2 interfaces from the monitor to the G. card for hi-end quality. These are rated amongst the best AFAIK but are hi-end for price.

For a TRUE gamer, they tend to pick CRT over LCD.

CRT
Pros: Work well at very high resolution * Deguess

Cons: Heavy

LCD
Pros: less power than CRT * less space * lightweight

Cons:tend to ghost * pixel tend to die fast * not very detailed screen * if color changes, there is no deguess for LCD

The main reason why True Gamer tend to pick CRT cuz LCD tend to ghost. but now half of the LCD dont ghost, but ghost for millisecond (which you dont even noticed)
