Hi all I am new to this Pc thing well new to P2P what I have noticed is every time I have downloaded a "program" in zip form when I come to open it I get hit by a virus warning and cannot open them.I dont get any probs with music, videos, files or images can anyone help am I doing someting wrong or do they all really have a virus in them? I am running windows xp and have Mcafee av running. Also can anyone point me to some simple info or user guides " they have to be simple for me

Re: The zip files; see WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of!

Double-click the top of the file column in the search window of LW so it arranges files with largest at top. Don't get confused between KB & MB. Very rarely will you find any program, video or music less than 1 MB. Such small files that show up in search results are spam or virii.

Thanks for your speedy reply the forums you adviced were helpful and your advice will be taken on board. I never will understand why these idiots have to place these Virus out there in the first place but at least they are keeping the AV programers in employment.
