windows media,itunes & limewire,HELP PLEASE??
 

Hi,i had everythin set up fine till i updated my windows media player to wmp10 yr day!ive downloaded about 900 songs from lw to my itunes library but somethin has gone wrong,i had itunes set up as my default audio player so all my downloads opened with itunes as i wanted and went in2 my library,now the files r coming up with the wmp logo(mp3 format sound) when i put a search in and not the green itunes music note logo(mpeg-4 audio files)??when i open itunes a message is displayed saying"itunes has detected it is not the default player 4audio files,do u want 2 make it the default player 4audio files?"i clicked yes then a mge came up saying "an error occurred while updating the default player 4audio files,you dont have enough ACCESS PRIVILEGES?? 4 this operation?the downloads r opening in windows media player and i cant play any downloads in itunes,just the ones i'd previously downloaded??any suggestions?thanks,Danny::confused: :confused:

Check to see if you are a administator on your computer.....Just a thought ????;)

It's quite expected that wmp will demand to be the default program to open all audio formats. So when you updated wmp, it no doubt adjusted/changed your defaults for audio. See Setting default audio program

hi,im still having no luck with this problem??i am the administrator on my computer but still getting the message"you dont have enough access privileges?"does any1 know how i reset or get these "access privileges??"i dont know if ive downloaded a dodgy file or some1 has gotten in2 my system? i tried uninstallin itunes and limewire n reinstalling them but problem reoccured?its probably something easy to fix but im not the greatest at these things,so could some1 please help cos its buggin me n i cant download any music in2 itunes,thanks,Danny

What the frag do you want with WMP10? Install VLC and use it for all multimedia files. If anything ever wants WMP, get rid it of it before it stabs you in the back.

I happen to have WMP10 on Windows XP, and I have no problem with it. I can play songs on it. Even those I've downloaded from Limewire. By the way, I have administrator privileges on my computer.
