No Java, no Limewire, no install, no uninstall... A few hours ago I tried to open Limewire. A small window opened saying: "LimeWire was unable to load the Java Runtime Environment. Please download and install a newer version from http://www.java.com". In the lower bar appeared this message: "Error 2330.1292, execute Chkdsk program". I clicked the link and kept trying to download J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 7, both directly and manual, but it dindn't work. It said there was an error when installing the former Runtime. I haven't the slightest idea of what a Chkdsk program is so I didn't even try something. I went to install-uninstall programs and could no remove Java from it. A few minutes ago I tried to download Java Runtime again and it was very surprising to watch it working as if nothing had happened before. LimeWire is now open and downloading. Please: 1. What happened? 2. Must I uninstall something from my installed programs? Please don't use too much, not even a little, technical language because I'll probably miss 100% of it. Thanks a lot, a lot, a lot. |
Online installations of LW can cause problem. As can online installations of LW. We recommend installing offline of both LW & Java. There was probably some momentary breakage in connection/communication that caused the fault. |
!Wow, I posted four minutes ago!. Thank you very, very much. Now I know it wasn't something deadly. I'll try my best to download LW and Java offline (?) looking for help in my neighborhood. |
