LOTR asked if I could help you with this problem, which I replied that I will, but as this is a trial version of Outlook have you tried contacting MS about this problem?

It appears that you have set outlook as your default editor but I do not know how to change it. You will have to open outlook settings and see if it is set as the default if it is untick it.

I take it you have the latest beta version of Outlook 2007 (or some such version), if this is the case you MUST get back to MS with your problem because no current user of Outlook will have your problem or be familiar with the new updates.

By the way, I did speak with my work colleague (an experienced Outlook user) as promised to LOTR about your problem. He is inclined to believe you have a bug in your beta version of Outlook.

Where did you get the trial from? If from microsoft tell them so they can make a patch or something. Like ukbobby said you might have a bug in it. if you got it from limewire or whatever sharing program you have someone coukd have put a bug in it.

not sure here, but methinks that all of the previous readers have totally missed it...

you say "...downloaded the free trial ver. of LW...."

what I'm reading here is that you downloaded the basic (free, but not a trial version as there is NO expiration timer) version of LW...when you started using it you started having outlook (express?) start giving some sort of 'pop-up'....do you mean that when you open LW, outlook also opens up?

not sure what the solution here is, as I see no obvioius option in outlook express that would cause or solve this problem...I've never had any occurence remotely similar to this with either outlook express or office outlook (noticed a few other problems over time, but not that one) and I've had LW installed on my machine many times, and of course since outlook express is part of the basic windoze OS install, I, like you, installed LW after outlook express...

the only thing that seems 'obvious' to me is that you may have some sort of corruption in your registry (possible caused by some other program) that is causing this conflict....if you get lucky you might actually get in contact with a person at M$ who not only speaks english worth a flip, but might also actually have the knowledge to work you through your registry to help you troubleshoot...

Good point Peerless

I had read Titanium's problem as "I downloaded a free trial version of Outlook", which would make it the latest beta version.

If Tatanium is talking about Outlook Express, not some beta copy of Outlook, and his problem came about after downloading LW then I would suggest a complete format and reinstallation of his HD. Which would be a lot easier than trying to unscramble a corrupt registry and, quite honestly, I don't believe Titanium would understand the instructions needed to sort his registry out.
