Sleepless You are probably right about "double clicking" on an incomplete file will not corrupt it but why take the chance? I just feel that "double clicking" could be disruptive to the download process and/or the file in its unassembled state. As for VLC, of which I am still using the previous version, I have found that if you download 10% or more of a file VLC will read it. Finally, I agree with your idea of copying and pasting an incomplete file into a different directory/folder before you start to experiment with it, as Newbee2 found out, the download will fail if LW perceives that the file has changed. UK Bob PS. Newbee2, you have some interesting problems, hope you post some more. |

as above As a last word maybe? I tried to double click in saved files library window for a Vlc saved file, lo and behold it Doesnt launch from there,WMP does, but Vlc doesnt ,does anyone else have this problem??? Nor does it play when i click 'Launch' I had this problem with incomplete files, but hadnt tried complete files. Any ideas? Puzzled (Vlc launches files from disc ok) Newbee2 PS sorry to be a nuisance with all these requests, but so far everyone has been very helpfull which I really appreciate. Thanks.

For some reason, Windows users can't use VLC to launch or preview from within the LW library. Go to your library, click on Saved Files & then click Explore. Your saved folder opens outside of LW...launch from there. Same deal for previewing, but instead of opening the saved folder, open the incomplete folder by clicking it & then using Explore. |

I love the VLC player as it plays videos that I would otherwise not be able to play. But I have this one problem with it. In certain video files, there's this yellowish grid that flickers in over the center of the image from the top of the image to the bottom. I distorts the colors underneath the grid too. Most of the language in the settings and such are a bit over my head. This has happened with a few files I've d/l'ed from Youtube as well. Does anyone know how to correct this? Thanks. |

Nexxus, Sorry, I can't help you because I haven't had the problem you're having but try going to the VideoLAN forum. Use their search first, just to see whether the question's been answered before The VideoLAN Forums :: View topic - READ FIRST: Forum information and rules |

Nexxus Sounds like you are having a small video card/driver incompatibility problems with the VLC player, although rare these problems still occur. I would suggest that you try and make a slight adjusting to your video card settings, how slight will be depend on your current settings, the facilities you have and the monitor you are using.
