Default Mac on Windows?

Is there some way to delete Windows and put mac on a computer. I heard there was some program or something. I know where I can get a cheap copy of Mac. At a computer store around my house. I don't want to use Virtual PC. Because I don't want two OS's on a computer. I heard there was some way to change the settings or something to make it compatable with a mac. Or there's linux. Which I think I could run.

I'm 99% sure you can't run MacOS on a Windows PC, but who knows someone might have tried. I would think you need to install Linux ..or of course go for an Intel Mac with Boot Camp and then you can run Windows and OSX 10.4 on the same Mac.

GF2 you really need to get yourself a Mac ..You know you want to

I want one like really bad. But I don't want to pay a lot of money for one. I can find one but it's old. I want the newest one so I can do more. My mom's friend always gets new computers but their all Windows. There was this article when someone hacked a Windows to make it run Mac. But I can't find it.

There are mac emulator softwares that run linux, windows or mac on any of those machines.

As for running windows os on the new intel macs, it has been done after a lot of trial & error. That was without using any emulator softwares. As far as I remember reading, the process is more difficult for vice versa.

Yes that's one, but there's others out there also. If I recall, one in particular is made in Italy.

According to that you must have a lot of space. I have 5. something gbs. When it has nothing installed. I might be better off finding a OS for a cheap price.

There's a lot of confusion in this Thread...

Mac is the abbreviation for Macintosh which is a computer (piece of hardware). You cannot replace Windows (Software) with Hardware! You can replace your PC with a Mac (i.e. buy a new Computer) but that's a different story.

The operating system which is running on Macs is called Mac OS or Mac OS X in its latest incarnation.

The most recent Macintosh computers are using Processors from Intel and except for the design they're almost identical to standard PCs (these Intel based Macs can run Windows, that means you can replace Mac OS X with Windows). Apple has taken pre-cautions however to make sure that you cannot run Mac OS X on standard PCs and it's not possible to obtain a legal copy of Mac OS X without buying a Mac.

There's also the option to run Mac OS X in an emulation (like PearPC) but that's painfully slow!

Where can I find a cheap mac system? All the ones I find are expensive. Or really old. A lot of stores must love micro$oft. They have a lot of micro$oft products. But no macintosh stuff. Just the Ipod.
