Need itunes help

My mom is running Windows XP on a dial up, she got a 2 gen. shuffle and itunes won't transfer music to my ipod. I know it's not the shuffle b/c it works on my pc at work. I've uninstalled and reinstalled itunes 4 times, along with using different USB ports and tried to restore the shuffle to it's orignial defaults. I beleive the problem to be somewhere in the pc, it's the only pc my mom has access to and need it to work. The rest of itunes works, it's just the actual transfering of the music files that it won't do. Does anyone have any suggestions. BTW I have talked to Apple 4 times and all I got was the error codes (50 and 1418) mean reinstall itunes (which doesn't help) and since it's not a apple pc they won't do anything else....though they did send her a new shuffle just in case but it does the same thing.

I don't know whether you're using BearShare or LimeWire since you originally posted in the BearShare forum section. But ... use some of the tips here How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes). I always recommend the Manual Updating of the iPod. And make sure your iPod is not full. The Shuffle doesn't hold a lot of songs, depending on which model you have.

Sometimes you need to reset the iPod. That can be a nuisance because you lose all the songs on the iPod. Are you sure you have all the updates for your Shuffle. If you're using the latest iTunes then you may need to update the shuffle also. You can find links to updates & other issues here http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/

Thanks for the suggestions, however I am sure the ipod isn't full. In fact there are no songs on it right now becuase they won't transfer. I have tried to reset the ipod (or restore in apples words). And it gives an error message of 1418 which apples says mean reinstall itunes. But i've done that 4 times and it hasn't worked any of those times. I am up to date on itunes versions and have done all that I have read on apples support page (ie Apples 5 R's) Which is why i've wasted about 4 hrs of my life trying to get this to work. Can you think of anything else I can try??

So your computer & the iPod & iTunes are all up to date?
By 5 R's I presume you mean the Hot Topics under the trouble-shooting in the link I gave.
Which version of iTunes are you using?

BTW this iPod Forum might be a good place to put your question. They have experienced people on there who are very helpful.

They are both up to date (Windows xp service pack 2, itunes 7.0.2.16)
Yes I tried the 5 R's in the apple help area first (reboot, reinstall, restore, ect). Thanks for the link to the ipod forum, I will try to ask my ? there as well.
