Since you didn't mention anything useful like what software gave you that error
message, what you were trying to do with it or even what kind of computer or
operating system was involved then no, nobody knows or can even try to find out.

Thanks Aaron, please excuse my lack of knowledge. Let's see if this helps.

I'm running xp pro, the software that put up the message was Limewire Pro

the message referred to uknown software at address xxxxxxxxx I can't remember the exact number. This message occurs two or three times a week when I shut down programs. Not always Limewire.

Hi again,
update :- oxoeedfade is back. The exact message is Exception (0x0eedfade) unknown software exception at address ox7c812a5b

This appears when I close down Limewire Pro. There is no apparent problem with running other programs.
