![]() http://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2008/09...hed-fast-track "Our friends at Public Knowledge have been getting the word out about S. 3325, the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Act of 2008. The bill was amended by the Senate Judiciary Committee last week, but it still aims to give the government the power to bring civil suits against infringers (where they would normally file a criminal lawsuit), allowing the Department of Justice to act as an enforcement tool for the entertainment industry, paid by your tax dollars. The latest word is that the bill's backers are aiming to get the bill passed quickly, without the full Senate voting on the measure -- without your voice, the bill may very well wind up on the fast track. If you oppose this unprecedented addition to Big Content's copyright enforcement machine, head to the Public Knowledge site ( Action Alert: Tell the Senate to Hold Up the Enforcement Bill | Public Knowledge ) and take action now!" |

![]() hmm, where's the Bill to seek out those who pollute the world with viruses. Is that not a worse thing? I've heard such being referred to as Terrorists. Terrorist sponsored groups via the music, software & film industries, etc. It (the spreading of viruses) is illegal activity in most countries around the world. Yet I do not see much action being taken. Why the blind eye to those terrorists. Just look at them: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...h-results.html Seems like double-standards. |

![]() I feel that, as a musician I should have unfettered access to music so that I can learn the songs. This way, I can play the songs publicly and help the the popularity of the the song/artist. In other words, I should be paid for distributing the artists works. I also feel that once I have bought and paid for a work once, it is then part of my 'intellect'. If the medium it is contained on fails, since it is not what I bought (I bought the content), I should not have to rebuy the content because I already own it. Therefore, I feel I should be able to download a new copy of that work for free. |

![]() oh my fvcking god.....are you a proponent of Keynesian economics too? I hope you (or the venue) are paying royalties for those cover tunes you (try?) play... why don't you become a real boon to the world and show some creativity and write your own....or if you are going to play a cover tune, then Van Halenize it...or better yet Hendrixize it like Jimi did with All Along The Watchtower....
