Default Gnutella/Foxy client popularity in Asia

Hi
According to wikipedia Foxy client (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foxy_(P2P)) is popular at east (especially china).

However, according to Hub map no such client is in use and there are not much popularity in the east of gnutella2 at all.

Can anybody help me understand: how popular Gnutella1/2 in Asia?
How many of the forum members are using Foxy (if any)?
Please refer me to relevant info,
Thanks
Moshiko

I use Foxy before.... Thats was in the time before i find out Foxy are a greedy and leeching client on Gnutella and G2! If you wanna have more info about that issue look here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/other-...2-network.html

Foxy is GnucDNA based client deliverd by Foxy,Inc-former Foxy Media! The latest Foxy is: Foxy 1.9.9 (GnucDNA 1.1.1.6) and theire home network Foxy Network is inside of the G2 crawler! The reason you would not find Foxy on a Hub map is because of it's terrible leaching behavior so its not verry welcome on the network so to speak....It's not doing enny good lets say, so no one runs the WebCache will have that client to report to them... Foxy can download from us but we can't download from them, what a wast i would say! They also flodding our search result with useless hits, somtime it can be so much as 80% only Foxy hit! Most people in Asia do not know much of Foxy and what it is doing in general... it's verry popular in China, HongKong and Taiwan where it comes from! People in Asia do not know about Gnutella and G2 so much, but thats why Foxy is popular these days because it's made for Asia users in general...It's theire Napster replacment you could say...I know Foxy,Inc use modifiyed java cache for theire network, if these is shut down the network will die over the night thats for sure!

Thanks for your post
Hmm.. Interesting...
Can you please elaborate about "modified java cache"? As far as I understood GnucDNA is C++ library, so you did not refer to the client itself?
Thank you!
Moshiko

Yes the GnucDNA is written in C++ as you notified... I was talking about the Bootstrapping GWebCache which is 3 of.... Foxy 1,Foxy 2 and Foxy 3 is the name of them...To Bootstrapp Foxy to the network they use modified Jums-WebCache java engine to that...Foxy uses the GnutellaBootstrapping methode for connecting its clients initially to the Foxy network. The Foxy Network is located inside the G2 crawler by default!LimeWire and Foxy is using probably the same Bootstrapping methode, and thats why Foxy is flooding the LimeWire's WebCacher now these days!Foxy is simple messing up for everyone on the Gnutella and G2 network, and thats not good! The question is they know it or not? John Marshall has created the GnucDNA for Gnucleus, and for every one who wanna use it as network core in theire p2p apps! The latest GnucDNA is GnucDNA 1.1.1.6. Foxy use a modified version of GnucDNA 1.1.1.6 as network management system core!

Well you could say so i guess! I was thinking about Foxy Devs really know what theire client really does or not on Gnutella/G2 network! They my not know, or simpel do not care at all.And closing there eyes for the fact they messing up the entire network... I was thinking that when i was writing this: "The question is they know it or not?" The users of Foxy does not know what network they are on, only you are connected to Foxy network so to speak!

Where can I get their client and it's source code?
Why they flodding our search results, is intentionally?
Which content they share - may it be only the local one?
Thanks!

Foxy is only in Chinise language...The source code for Foxy you can not have, because it's "closed source"... They do not need to give out the Foxy source code as they have to do if it was "open source"...You can Google for Foxy download! Since im now moderator of GnucDNA section, i feel i don't wanna support this GnucDNA client anymore....The reason to it is Foxy messing up for everyone who use native Gnutella/G2 clients on the network!
