I've just come across this story about the demise Lehman Brothers and one of their financial tricks they used to pretend that they were financially healthier than they actually were, namely REPO 105.

BBC News - Lehman Brothers' former heads criticised for lapses

It makes me wonder, how many other financial institutions are out there (both in the US and Europe) pretending to be healthy but in reality should be put down.
