Default gnutella woes

i've been trying all day today trying to get 5.5 to start. I've tried the steps recommended by lotr and others here to fire it up but to no avail. I have fujitsu siemens 3.4 intel processor with 3gb of ram with 150gb hard drive @ 38% full. Running windows xp. Had kaspersky 2009 and malwherebytes but removed kaspersky this morning and installed avg9 in desperation. No issues with 5.4 until last night when my downloads seemed to stall. then this morning was unable to start limewire at all. the connections message reads gnutella disconnected however an internet connection is detected. AOL is my isp on broadband through a netgear router. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several versions of limewire and as directed also tried frostwire but that didn't connect either. Please someone render assistance going postal. regards rob

I'm having the same issue. Did you figure out how to reconnect to Gnutella?
