Lightbulb Earthquake

I have been hearing many stories about earthquakes. Many people think that the end of time is near. Alot of people are jumping to the ideal that we need to think about what is happening to our earth. Do you think that the end of earth is just around the corner. What make people think that earthquakes means the end of time. What do you think?

Default Natural Disasters

Crymomma

Earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, hurricanes and tornadoes are all part of the way the Earth works and without it life would not exist on the planet.

If you take a look at our nearest planetary neighbour, Mars, and you will not see any quakes, volcanoes or any water based disasters like a tsunami and that planet is dead, it has no plants, animals or even insects.

Just remember, even though our natural disasters can destroy life but if we did not have them there would be no life.

i agree with you! There are alot of people think that every time we have a earthquake or hurricane and volcanoes, they think it is the end of the world. If this was really happening...why are we still here.

That is very true.

I also believe that if and when the world will end, i.e. the end of all human life, we will not be told about it and therefore will know nothing about it when it happens.

The world went crazy in the year 999, when many feared the biblical reference to the end of the millenium. It was later decided that the biblical 'millenium' is an unknown length of time.

It has also been determined that a biblical 'day' could be many thousands, or even millions of years. Hence, the whole shebang was built in only six 'days'. Still leaves me wondering why an all-powerful god needed a seventh day, to rest.

On Feb. 8, 1750 a small earthquake struck London. John Wesley wrote, "O, that our repentance may prevent heavier marks of His displeasure." Then another, heavier quake struck on March 8. And while scoffing at predictions of another quake a month later, it suddenly became popular to be 'called away' from the city near the end of March. By April 5 one-third of London was emptied (one person counted 730 coaches leaving the city). It was estimated that 100,000 people slept in parks or on boats. They stayed away for three days, not knowing if the Almighty was using a 28- or 30-day calendar to plan His events.

One would think that people would have eventually come to their senses. For another fifty-years it was thought that earthquakes occured only in cities that had 'turned away from G-d', until someone realized that we don't hear about earthquakes that happen in remote places because there is no one there to make the report.

We all know that New Orleans survived Katrina rather well; it was the failure of the man-made levvies that so devasted the city. Remember Jerry Falwell saying that the hurricane was due to G-d's displeasure at N.O.'s decadance? So G-d must have decided to spare the French Quarter! Here in earthquake country, the most decadant sections of San Francisco have been equally spared. (Perhaps bars and strip clubs are blessed with "special dispensation".)

End of the world? No, I think the turtles will hold up the planet for a very long time to come. But if it has been a long time since Atlas shrugged in your neck of the woods, then you may be overdue for an earthquake; the pressure is building - Repent Now!

Whenever the world ends, it will be a natural event.
