For each tab you saved FF has to open a new instance and connect to each site. Same with Exp, though FF is slower. Browser add-ons shouldn't make much diff in loading time, but many of them check for updates, which delays things a bit.

Any reason why I should check out TBird or Safari? Used to use Opera but haven't checked it out since the Change. (They once gave me Opera Pro after I sent them a happy birthday e-mail.)

I still use Opera but without any add-ons because I just cannot be bothered anymore to look for extra facilities that may be switched off at the next update/upgrade. Nevertheless, the main reason I still use Opera is for Internet shopping and banking. Opera is still very fast, i.e opens very quickly and reasonably secure.

For web surfing I use Firefox because I believe with all the extra safety add-ons you can use makes it the safest PC browser in the world.

As for IE8.0, I only use that browser if I want to check that I have the latest security updates for my O/S, WinXP Pro SP3.
