Five Philadelphia men were fatally shot in separate cases in the city on Sunday, according to police.
A 30-year-old man was fatally shot in the chest in the 1600 block of North Lindenwood in Overbrook around 7:30 p.m.
A few minutes later and about a half-mile away, a 27-year-old man was shot in the neck in the 5200 block of Master Street in West Philadelphia. No weapons were recovered, police said, and no arrests were made.
The men were pronounced dead about 14 minutes apart at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, according to police.
The violence began shortly after midnight, when four men were struck by gunfire at 12:28 a.m., on the 1800 block of North Newkirk Street in the city's Brewerytown section, police said. One man, 20, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.
A second victim, in his 20s, suffered a wound to the face. A third, 27, was shot in the chest and back, and the fourth, also 27, was shot once in the back. They were in critical condition at Temple Hospital.
Police on Sunday withheld the name of the man killed in that attack. The investigation continues.

Is there any truth in what a person will believe in

I think I said my piece about guns in society in a previous post a year or few ago. I sort of embarrassed myself. But guns are illegal here in Australia, unless you are member of a shooters club or a farmer. But regardless, this limits you to what guns you can register & own.
Of course this is not to say illegal guns do not get around because they do. But there's a nice little jail term for being caught with one. Minimum 2 years jail from memory.

I know I know, Charlton Heston demanded guns be allowed for every man woman & child in the USA for self protection. (was that due to his senility?) ... And how many school shootings have there been over past 10 years?

(Oh is that a burglar .. * BANG * *BANG* * BANG* .. yeah think we got him .. OMG ... oops it was our daughter sneaking in late ! )

You only need to look at the crime rates of countries that legalise guns & those that don't (including the accident examples like mine above of course which are often left out of *true* statistics.)

I'm saving my gun for the upcoming revolution...and that is what the founding fathers had in mind in case you all haven't figured it out...maybe if we strictly enforced the death penalty in cases where there is no doubt about guilt gun crime rates would be lower....
