I didn't know you could disable uploads. I know yo ucan limit upload bandwidth to 25% but it thinks 25% of my bandwidth is 11/k sec which is closer to 100%

You can set the number of upload slots to zero.

I also have Starband Satellite internet service and my newly acquired limewire pro will not connect under any circumstances. I hit the connect and the button goes green for maybe a second. If someone out there knows how I can fix this I would appreciate it.

Starband

I also have Starband and am experiencing the same problem. The guy in tech support swears they're not blocking the gnutella network, but I can't get any application to connect. He said to tunnel through port 9877, but I can't figure out how to do that.

Starband Want work

If you are on starband and trying to use it for the gnutella network give it up.
They have changed the scripting in there DATA ACCELERATOR program .
It will allow lime wire to try to connect for 15 minutes then for some reason it will close that port and not allow connections through that port on the sat data accelerator.

I have contacted starband myself about it and they said they done no such thing.
Talked to one of the peps that works there and managed to pry the information from him that they are blocking the GNUTELLA network connections from there system due to the LOAD that it is puting on there network...

I have starband also and im using cable.. (cable seems to work....ludicrus with it.....)
