Question LinkSys BEFSR41 Router

I have only recently started to use LimeWire 2.3.3 PRO -- with mixed success.
I am not too successful in getting connections to work; most attempts just don't get any result.
Then out of the blue I'll get a fast download that surprises me at how smoothly and quickly it comes in - usually from another cable connected source and of course that encourages me.
Perhaps this is all normal but I don't think it is.
I work from home and my 512kpbs cable-modem connection is made from through a BEFSR41 LinkSys router, which has a hardware firewall as part of it.
I don't usually have any trouble with it. Until Morpheus went all strange that was the file sharing application I used without any bother and with more success than with LimeWire.
It did not seem to have any trouble with Morpheus and in fact most of the music files I have have been downloaded my Morpheus.
Is my LinkSys router likely to cause trouble with LimeWire?

Harry.

You'll want to forward port 6346 from your router to your computer. You may also need to force your WAN IP address in LimeWire, but I'm not sure about that. Does anyone know if LimeWire automatically picks up WAN IPs? Or if it doesn't, the steps to force a WAN IP in LimeWire?

LimeWire shouldn't cause any trouble with your router.

Some advice to get your connections to work: LimeWire sometimes needs a few minutes (due to the decentralized structure) until it is connected properly and the searches will return many results.
