connections

Ok i am new to using limewire, i downloaded it but it won't connect. I have no idea how to fix it. Is there something wrong with the connection, or is there something wrong with the way i have things set up. Please help this is my last resort. I have a mac so this is the only downloader i know of. Thankyou.

have you run the telnet test, to see if you have access to the Gnutella network: http://www.limewire.com/index.jsp/faqs#sta3

are you connected to the Internet before you launch LimeWire?

have you tried selecting File-Connect?

are you behind a firewall, router, or proxy server?

are you connecting from work, home, or school?

which operating system are you running? some operating systems have built-in firewalls, which you may have to configure so that Gnutella access is not blocked.
