Gnutella network disconnect As a puter user, rather than a tech, I enjoyed the first week of using Limewire, searchng, downloading, burning and the lot. Today, when I opened Limewire, I found the page heading to read LimeWire:Running the Gnutellen Network (Disconnected/No Files Available.) Can anyone tell me, since I am connected to my ISP as normal, why or what is the disconnection status, and how or what do I re-connect. Many thanks from this newbie. =ROSS= |
If the network is stressed or you cant find a good node you can connect to, you are disconnected and so cant download. To avoid this problem try to add some more hostcaches and router: Go to options and add some hosts: connect1.bearshare.com and so on... If you search the forum I am sure you will find some more hosts to quickconnect. |
There is a list of some hostcaches listed here |
I am also having problems with the heading of Disconnected/ no files available. I have added the cache and routers to the system and this still does not help. Is there something I am doing wrong or anything else I can do? |
You can try my gnutella.net file. ftp://whitedragon.dyndns.org/gnutella.net (mail to gregorio@gmx.li if unavailable) Download it and copy it into your limewire directory (C:\program files\LimeWire). That should enable you to connect if the pong caches (router.limewire.com etc.) don't get you connected. If even this file doesn't help you, - it's a problem with your own network configuration and I can't help you. |
