Default bad connections with regards to gnucleus morpheus

In the past few day I have noticed my number of avaiable hosts has dropped significantly. I use to connect to well over 3000 now I am lucky I can connect to 500. I looked upnde the connect tab and now seee many IP with a vendor name of morpheusOS and Gnucleus. I also notice almost no messages going in and out with regards to thos IP's. When I remove them I notice the number of hosts starts climbing signicicantly but after a while when some of my hosts drop I end up again with the above vendor and very few avaible files. Is there a way to block certain vendor/IP's. I did notice you can block individual IP but that could take all day. I would love to share with people who have that but I can't download a thing when they are conencted.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks
sam
p.s.
I have a cable modem, Windows XP, Athlon 1800, over a gig of memory, etc.

The Gnucleus connections report fewer hosts and transfer less messages but they can often be very good connections. Are you sure that your searches are getting worse?

You say you 'can't download a thing'. Is this actual experience or a guess based on the number of hosts reported?

In other words - there is nothing wrong with the Gnucleus hosts (and I think that Morpheus is based on the Gnucleus code - so is probably also OK).

It is, of course, more difficult to know when you have a good selection of hosts...

Mark-
It does look like my searches are getting worse. I use to type in say divx and get back say 2000 entries now I type it in and get back a few hundred. Most of my downloads get dropped especially so when I have a lot of gnucleus or morpheus hosts. Not trying to decriminate against them but the past couple days I have had most of my host now connect that way. It does clear up once I manual remove them and suddenly my searches are more fruitful finding many hosts with the same file.

There are more 'bad' gnucleus/morpheus ultrapeers than limewire ultrapeers. If you are connected to one of them, you won't get as many results. - However most gnucleus/morpheus ultrapeers are nearly as good as LimeWire ultrapeers, so you usually won't notice much of a difference.

I've noticed that my Limewire connections gradually drop off and are replaced by the Gnucleus and MorepheosOS ultrapeers. Is there something wrong with the Limewire network?

I would have to say Theala is correct. Unless I manually remove them, my connections all are not with limewire after a while and thus I can not really search for anything of download. Is there a way to block my computer from certain hosts from connecting without having to type in a bunch of ip addresses. I just looked and after 30 minutes of connecting half my vendor connections are morpheus and I am down to 800 hosts from 3000.. It does look like they are not as well connected in general

Red face BEARSHARE

I have noticed once in while bearshare will pop on my list of ultrapeers and that seems to work fine unlike morpheus and gn... I was wondering why most of the time I never see bearshare connect. IS there a way, or a setting I have to type in somewhere so that it can try to connect to bearshare users???
