Connections in Limewire I kind of understand why you limited the number of connections a user can have, but it's also really limiting finding the info you are looking for. By limiting to 12 server connections I can hardly find what I am looking for any more. Also when I do find what I want, it has massively slowed down my ability to download it. I.E. Before I could find a ton of folks hosting the file I wanted. And could download it from at least 2 or 3 of them. That is if I can find the file... Now I'm lucky to get 1 site to download from at a few k of transfer. It sucks having this limited connections in the new version. I hope you guys take this back off and think of a different way to limit network overload. Thanks Michael Willis Columbus Ohio |
I'm afraid, the developers probably won't take that back. It's hurting the network and I don't think it improved your search results as much as you think, either. Having too many connection could even reduce your search horizon (I'd have to go deeper into technical stuff to explain that). You can always use another client if you don't like it, although gnucleus for example enforces a limit of 3 and the developer announced that he would like to reduce that number. |
I went back to 2.13 and guess what....... So what is hurting my searches now? It seemed to all start with this new release. I'm on Timewarner Roadrunner. They aren't blocking. (At least inter-network). So why all of a sudden I'm I having such problems searching and downloading when it was work fine before? It has to be the new release. Mater of fact I've now proved it. I went back to 2.13 and guess what....... It works a hell of a lot better than 2.44...... Searches downloads, everything…… So why again what could be going on? I think their is a big problem in 2.44. If you feel there is a big problem in 2.4.4 it is your problem and I don't give a ****. |
