![]() ...but two days ago I was connecting to LimeWire and downloadind, happy as a clam. Then for some reason I can't connect to LimeWire; I tried to telnet, but never got the "Gnutella OK" message, which supposedly means that my ISP provider is blocking the connection. But I was connected only two days ago, and another person with the same ISP is connected to LimeWire now, so what should I do?? |

![]() Well, the thing is that I checked the telnet settings, and I have all five, natch, so I'm at an utter loss. I tried doing the whole Freewire fix that someone else here suggested, but since the connections are the same, nothing happened. Is this a problem with the ISP or with the Limewire program (I'm just a molecular biologist, and computer lingo makes me run like a scared bunny, so pardon my ignorance)? |

![]() If you are not getting the Gnutella OK then the particular connection needed to succeed is not making it. There can be several reasons. - Are you running any firewall software - Do you have a hardware firewall - If you are on an academic or Business LAN is your system administrator blocking traffic on port 6346. - If you are using a public ISP is your ISP blocking traffic on port 6346. Since you know of another pserson on the same ISP is OK it is still possible that a given router withing your ISP is blocking you and the other person may not be going through the same path... I think a phone call to your ISP would be in order. |
