Some more information would be useful...

OS, Java version, LimeWire version, your internet connection, firewall, etc, etc...

The latest version of LimeWire (2.5.5) is far more stable here than previous versions have been.

Default limewire shut down info

I am running Windows XP, I have cable internet, I am currently running Limewire 2.5.5, and Java 2 Runtime SE v1.4.0_01. No firewall. I do have Norton anti-virus.

I am in the situation and most I can connect for is a split second. Is it Norton?

I have noticed that LimeWire now shuts down when I start a DirectX App (games mainly). I shall report this as a bug shortly.

Whether this is related to your problem...

Take note of when LimeWire shuts down and what was going on at the time.

If you disable norton, does LimeWire still shutdown?
