how to connect

ok Do you have to be online for limewire to connect? because I am not online and I have tried and it doesn't work and Im getting really fustrated I think Iv even tried to connect when I was online and nomatter what I do I doesn't work
PLEASE HELP! I really want to use it but its impossible!

Why can't i connect ? it just keeps saying no files, disconnected...
