![]() I click on the desktop shortcut to try to open limewire and it makes me choose my connection speed and and where I want my files stored (even though I have already answered those questions). Then I get a window that says loading user interface. I waited 10 minutes and nothing happened. I tried going to my tasklist to maybe stop limewire but it doesn't show any applications as running. Basically, I want to know if this is normal or if there is something wrong. (I have Windows International, by the way, because the other Windows download wouldn't work). |

![]() Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire & updating your Java to version 1.5. But downld the Java & save the installer to your comp (don't install over the net.) Then install Java from your comp. If you don't already have it, update to LW 4.8.1 |

![]() Do you get a blank screen or freezing at the loading message? You could also try reverting back to Java 1.4.2 which might help. For some reason 1.4.2 runs better on some people's systems. You can get a link for this Java from my previous link. Not sure if this applies to you people but it might be worth seeing this: LimeWire loads with Blank window & freezes (click on link) Last edited by Lord of the Rings; June 21st, 2005 at 09:52 AM. |

![]() Thanks for the advice LOTR - I had "upgraded" to Java 1.5 Update 2 last week, not coincidentally, the last time I had LW functioning properly. By simply uninstalling 1.5 and reinstalling 1.4.2 I have rectified the problem. I suggest anyone who is receiving the "Loading User Interface..." command take your advice and do as I did, before taking any other action. Maybe next time, I'll use my noodle more efficiently. Take it easy - PB ![]() |
