With version 2.9.8, I was able to control how many connections I want to maintain. I couldn't find the option in the user interface of the current version (2.9.11), and changing the KEEP_ALIVE property in limewire.props didn't seem to work. I wonder if I can get the older version, or if I can control the attribute in the new version. Thanks.

When I first downloaded & installed OS 9.2.2 on my G3, it crashed. Tried it once more & it crashed again. I have heard rumours that OS 9.2.2 has a bug hidden in it & will crash whenever you try to put anything else on it. Been using OS 9.2.1 & have had no problems. Good Luck!

I just upgraded to Limewire Pro, paid my money, and this thing won't connect. I am trying to do a project and my whole day has been ruined. Somebody help. It says 'Disconnected/No files available' and has a red light at the bottom saying that i am sharing 489 files. What to do?

Limewire is a piece of trash...is there any other program to download for Mac OS ver. 9.2????????????

Stick with what keeps you happy unless you start getting too many problems. I stuck with LW 2 for over 2 years. I can't say I was totally happy over that period but I was happy with the end reults even though it meant the odd corrupt downld prefs which was prevalent with that version. However after moving up to LW 4 I've never looked back. Be it LW 4.0, or the 4.1 betas or 4.2 I've been happy. Only when I jumped from LW 4.1.7 back to 4.0.4 did the downld prefs go stuffy (which happened twice) but before that it never happened with LW 4 & found LW 4.2 filled a lot of needs. Sometimes particular verisons do better for a particular system than others. As I was reminded when I stepped back to OS 9 today for a few hours. When you decide to upgrade to a higher vresio don't forget to upgrade your Java before-hand, be it by 1.4.2 http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...radejava.shtml or via SUN: eg for now: Java 1.5 (take the JRE)

So i made a mistake upgrading to 4.2.6 from my perfect 4.0.4, now i have connection problems and all sorts. So i try many links to download the old 4.0.4, many tweaking sites etc. but all of them still download 4.2.6! Where can i download Limewire 4.0.4?

Oh 4.0.4 may have been taken out of circulation for some reason. But 4.0.8 seems to be there. I guess I should comment that if a particular version is now unavailable it's b/c it was not healthy for the Nutella Network. Changes to LW are not just to improve the program itself but also to make it a more p2p network community responsible app.

Just one point about older versions however. Some have been made unavailable b/c they were unhealthy for the network. Some of the experienced users out there would be aware of those trouble-some p2p apps or versions that cheat the system & also make too many over-queries which conjests & slows down the network. For that reason LW has made the much older versions unavailable for the sake of the average user & the gnutella network community as a whole.
