Unhappy

I'm also having the same problem. I've tried ditching limewire and then even re-configuring my hard-drive, but when I re-install it's still messed up. The connection won't stick. It's frustrating because everything was fine for months. Any suggestions?

Do you both use firewalls? If so did you try to configure them?

And what port are you using if you know?

Default Connection Problems

Jay - Thanks for responding.

I had a firewall previously, but do not have one now(I lost it when I reconfigured the HD and hadn't backed up the file). Do you think this is the problem? Is the Limewire system confused by the present lack of a firewall, and if so, what can I do about it? Also, I'm on port 6346. Appreciate any help you can give me with this problem.

NO

You should have a firewall when using a P2P program. I will stress this out to everyone, a must do! Please! Hackers out there......... Also a adware/spyware program to see what you have on your system like www.adware.com or www.pestpatrol.com to delete adware and spyware off your system from using other clients and programs that you were not aware of.

Having no firewall and having problems like this I need to know what window version you are running for sure.

In windows98 and up and not Linux or Mac I would if I was you do a full www.windowsupdate.com for your windows to get dlls and drivers thats needed from direct X and runtime/ java Virual Machine along with Internet Explorer =IE and all the others thats need with your system.

Also do a full scandisk and defrag of your computer after wards.

6346 I would try 6348 or 6347 to see what happens but please If you want to solve alot of computer problems, above is needed to apply.

I do need to know your computer Platform to understand more, so bare with me.

I'm not paid to learn Linux or Mac I just don't use those OS systems, so I can't help you even if I wanted to. Windows 98 up XP with Me.

Jay

Wink Thanx

OK - Thanks Jay.

I'll look for the Mac equivalent of adaware and pestpatrol. I've defragged and scanned the disk. I guess I must have picked up a bug as you warn.
