Does AOL restrict the Gnutella network?

Hi,

My brother just installed LimeWire 2.8.5. He's able to connect successfully but within minutes the connection always fails. I read in the FAQ's that failed connections might be attributed to the ISP restricting access to the Gnutella network. My brother's ISP is AOL. Does anyone know whether AOL restricts access to the Gnutella network? If so, is there another non-Gnutella based product that might be a good alternative?

Thanks very much.

I too use AOL and cannot connect. I called AOL and they assured me they do not block Gnutella traffic. Seems to point the finger back at Limewire.
