i think my limewire forgot how to connect
 

i just downloaded the new limewire 2.8.6 and now it doesn't connect at all! I let it run for a good half hour waiting for my connections, and at the most i get something that says (144 files, 15,345 MB avaliable) and then i get nothing when i search, or i am connected for only a few seconds, not enough time to do a search. i want it to say Running the Gnutella Network! I am so frustrated with this, I am looking to alternatives if i can't remedy the problem. HELP!

Same problem. I exit Limewire & restart then all seems "fine". Shouldnt be that way though.

First launch not always successful...
 

Killian02... When you install a new version of LimeWire, and launch it for the first time, it will re-hash all of the files in your Shared Folder. This may take some time depending on the number of files, and your available resources, but it shouldn't take a half hour as you stated.

I've found, like ssolo8, that if you exit the first launch of LimeWire and then launch it again, its OK. Have you tried this?
