![]() Help! Recently I had to reinstall all the software to my computer after a hard drive crash. I had backed up all my files, and was able to restore the version of Limewire which I was running at the time (v. 2.7). (I refuse to install 2.8, because from the moment I installed it, it gave me trouble, and it's not as nice a version as 2.7.) However, something must not have restored correctly, because from the moment I tried to run it, it's been acting strangely. These boxes keep popping up (in the limewire colors and looking like part of the program, so no, it's not something else) showing what I think are TCP/IP addresses (strings of numbers like this: 66.233.82.32) and asking for a username and password. I haven't entered anything into the boxes, and it seem to make no difference whether I hit OK or CANCEL, they still go away--but they pop up several times a minute and seem to slow down limewire and interfere with my computer. What the heck is going on? It's annoying, especially when I'm trying to run other programs while I wait for songs to download. |

![]() Thank you for directing me to those threads! I appreciate the help. Now if we could just get someone to tell us how to turn these blasted things off, we'd be set! (But at least now I have a better idea of what's going on.) |
