Small Number Available Files! Logging on to Limewire I used to routinely get (a couple months ago anyway)access to like 2-3megs worth of files. But now I'm always stuck around the 200-300K range. This seems pitifully low. I'm using 2.8.5 Pro on W98se with a dsl connection and netgear router. Everything works, it's just the low # connections that's frustrating and really limits what I'm getting out of Limewire:confused: What does the average user get in terms of number megs data available, and what can be done to maximize this? TIA, EJ |
Less files I'm seeing the same thing all of a sudden. When I first got Limewire, I would see a ton of responses to most searches. Lots of good selections and options. Now, in the last 2 days, I've seen a huge dropoff in file availability. What's up with this? I just upgraded to the most recent version - is that messing me up? |
yeah, i contacted TS about this and basically they pretended like these numbers (# files available, amount of data available) were completely fictitious. Obviously though they are not, since they correlate closely with the # hits returned. Not much help. I would have gone to Kaza a long time ago if it hadn't slammed me with a bunch of spyware that crashed my machine. I'm thinking of sacrificing the kids' machine to kaza :-) Where are all the Limewire/gnutella users ... or are we the only 2?! |
File # inconsistency Ok - and now I run a search - get a decent amount of files, but no consistency. Audio books, for example, that were listed yesterday are no where to be seen, and there's a ton listed that weren't there for the last week. Nice tool, glad I've got access to this stuff, just want consistency. Thx for the reply, always nice to know one isn't talking to thin air. |
