Alright, first, do you have a router? If so, find your manual, or your utility that was installed to get the router working, and open up port 6346. If you have a router, your documentation should help you do this.

If you have a software firewall enabled, find the utility or preferences for that and open up port 6346 as well.

Do you have a router, a hardware firewall, or a software firewall? If so, disable them on port 6346 and allow traffic through that port.

Angry Connection to net with mulipule Apps.

When I connect using Limewire Pro (Mac 10.2.6) I loose all other connections in Mail, Safari, Explorer, etc. Plaese help. Why do I have to only have one application working at once? I gain access to these other Apps. a few min. or so after quiting Limewire Pro.

try checking "disable ultrapeer" in the prefs/options.

Sounds like your router might need a firmware update--something can't handle the number of connections you are trying. How do you connect to the internet, and what LW version are you using?

I connect via router and T1. Using Appletalk to connect about 7 Macs running both OS X (10.2.6) and (OS 9.2). All seem fine until I start using LW then the everything goes down even the other computers can't connect to me or the internet.

Sounds familiar. I'm running a few G3's, a G4, assorted PPC 's, and even a few 68K macs on occasion. Setting up the LAN for more than one to use a p2p client is tricky. I had to dump the software router and get a LinkSys dedicated router to help ease the problem you describe.

If your router (what model?) acts as a firewall, you can turn off the OSX built-in firewall.

As I said, the lousy solution is to disable ultrapeer capabilities. This cuts down the number of connections, and still allows you to search, download and upload quite well, but deprives the network of your potential to be a significant crossroad on the network. I needed to map each machine to a different port (and open up those ports) to cut down the conflicts.

Did I miss what version of LW you are using ? You might want to try Jens-Uwe Mager's build of LW3Pro and see if it fixes some of the OSX specific problems for you
