![]() Like so many other posts on this forum, I cannot connect to the Internet with Limewire. I just downloaded it this afternoon and cannot connect. I have waited and given plenty of time for the connecting to occur, but nothing happens. The red light turns green for a second and then turns to red. When I click on Connections I don't have any verbage to say it is trying to connect. I have: No router No firewall I am definitely connected to the Internet No virus software running Nothing else running except Limewire And I still can't connect. You keep giving the same answers but it doesn't solve anyone's problem. Please help! Does Limewire not work as well with a 56K modem? |

![]() yeah. 56k works, i used it for a while before i got cable. i guess you tried manually connecting through file/connect, and it still did nothing. considering that there is nothing happening in the 'connections' tab, it looks like limewire is not reaching the internet in the first place. what provider do you use? some are blocking gnutella. sorry, can't think of anything else. FYI: None of the people on this board works for limewire, we're just users like you. Yes, we're giving the same answers. These are the things that have come up in the past. Some problems are rare, and in these cases we might not know the solution. That's not our fault. Please don't be rude, will you. |

![]() No I do not have a firewall installed. I did get it connected for a while and downloaded a couple of songs. But I don't know what I did to have it connect. It just suddenly connected. I guess I'll just keep on trying or go back to my previous software. Thanks for helping. |

![]() with the version of lw you're curently are using, did you ever get a successful connection? if so, did you change anything on your sytem or with the limewire options before it stopped working? if so, try undoing whatever it was. you could also try to trash limewire.props and your gnutella.net file to get back to default settings. limewire will create new ones when you start it next time. |
