![]() not only am i not staying connected to lime wire for more than half a song...... red dot green dot red dot green dot....... when it finally does decide that it doesnt want to be connected anymore it completely shuts down my internet connection. to the point where i have to shut down unplug my modem and restart my computer and my modem. at frist i thought it was my cable company. but they had no outages. so i called the cable company and they say they cant read my ip address. ive gone hours on here and not one disturbance but the minuet i start running lime wire for more than five minuets im shut down. oh and im running windows xp and ive already disabled the xp fire wall and i have no others running. ![]() if i was being hacked why would the connection go down so quickly. and wouldnt they need the connection to get in and out of my computer. the fact that the cable company cant read my ip addy isnt that strange. i dont think im being hacked could it be another problem with some other programs conflicting with the port or something? |

![]() Only gnutella uses that port. Quit any other apps that use gnutella. Upgrade to the highest version. It sounds as if your problems may originate with your ISP, rather than LW, which I'm led to believe b/c they can't read ur IP. Are you on a network of any sort? Behind any routers? |

![]() Hi mushy (et al). I get this regularly, especially (but not only) when connected through a router. The workaround for me is to disable the ultrapeer preference and only connect as a leaf, which works well for searching and downloading--there are even some uploads too. Although I haven't ruled out a hacker, this happens too often with all sorts of configurations of OS system, LW, router, firewall and IP. OS 10.2.6, latest LW, 700MHz G3 ibook, static IP, 1Mbit/sec cable up and down. |
