Too Many Connections! Ok - i'm using the latest Lime Wire on OSX and have Comcast (i think) cable... This is what i have noticed... Back in the day - you used to be able to set the number of connections you have. A good 5 or 6 always worked for me... With this latest version - there is no option to set how many connections - so my computer just keeps piling on the connections one after the other.. Hundreds of successful connections... At this point - limewire works great! But - after awhile (time varies greatly) it seems like there's just too much pinging and pushing and pulling on my modem and it just shuts down and I have to reset it... So - is there any way around this? Any way to limit my connection number? Anything? Am I the only one that has this problem? Who shot JR? -Spitz |
nice! Just check "disable ultrapeer" in preferences-> speed That will give you three or four connections (2 is enough; I think the other two are for backup/redundancy) Cheers. |
Bingo. Stief - your my man! -Spitz |
Thanks, but not me--just passing on what the experts have said. Still, it's a pity to waste that great connection you have (seen this? http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=21548). If you already fiddled with your connection (firewall/router firmware and set up/ LW prefs) , try running as an UP when each new version comes out. The developers keep improving the code. Cheers |
Will do! Thanks for the info! |
