i can only stay connected for 3 sec

i cant stay connected for more than 3 seconds atr a time, once i click connect i get kicked off again

Sounds like a firewall or router interference. Find the option to "Force IP" (Preferences->Advanced->Firewall)--that might help. Sharing more files also gets other machines to try to keep your connections alive.
