Default Can somebody help?

I have just installed Lime Wire, version 3.5.8. I have been unable to connect. I get the whole red light/green light thing. I have WIndows 98. I have restarted my computer, restarted Lime Wire, unistalled Lime Wire, and then installed it again. It's still the same. Can somebody help me?

Thumbs up

If you have a firewall, lower it or turn it off for a second. also in your firewall give limewire.exe permission to access the net. Run Limewire and it will want to run javaw.exe (to make an initial connection I think.) then limewire should fire up and you can restore your firewall. Worked for me.

Tassibo, if you are running windows xp it does come with a firewall, its crappy but better than nothing. maybe turn that off and try, then download a solid firewall.

Go to Control Panal

Then Network and Internet Connections

Then Network Connections and click LAN (if that is what you have.)

Then under the General tab select properties

Then select the advanced tab and uncheck the internet firewall tab.

I am sure you know where it was but someone else may not.

Good Luck, I hope you get limewire up!
