it appears we dont have a firewall......nuthings comin up, the only thing that came up was a link to a search for a firewall? should i download one or wat?

Blackbird October 21st, 2003 05:21 PM

If you connecet to the internet via cable or dsl, you probably have a firewall, if you don't...

Well, there're a couple more tried and true little things.

Try downloading the latest version of Limewire and see what happens. Totally delete the old one from your harddrive, including preferences.

not sure October 21st, 2003 09:03 PM

i think i delete everything but im not positive, the files i get rid of are, under add and remove programs i remove limewire then under my computer i go to program files, find the limewire folder then delete, ive done this many times....is there another folder?? and also the newest version is 3.58 is it not?

Blackbird October 21st, 2003 09:25 PM

Yes, that's the newest main release.

Soon the latest 3.6.x main version should be out. The beta of that is just about done.

another version October 22nd, 2003 02:36 PM

ok cool, but i wanted to know if i delete everything also if u happen to know?

Blackbird October 22nd, 2003 08:18 PM

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you're saying.

Blackbird October 22nd, 2003 08:45 PM

You should delete the preferences, yes.

ok....ummm October 22nd, 2003 10:27 PM

lol ok....i was asking if i am deleting them???lol if they r included in the stuff i delete each time but yes i know that they should be deleted. are they under another name for example? or where would i delete them?

Blackbird October 22nd, 2003 10:39 PM

Aha. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I don't really do windows, so I'm not sure. A good bet would be to search for "lime" after you've "removed" (i think that's what it's called) Limewire. If anything "lime" comes up, delete it (unless of course, you have pictures of limes or something that doens't look limewire related). That should be a clean wipe, and then try installing the latest version of LW.
