Unhappy Help Me Please!!!

I have windows 2000 pro and i cant seem to get limewire to work, kazaa does work but i dislike kazaa A LOT compared to limewire. I have looked throughout the forums for a long time and cant find a way to fix my connection problem. When i had an earlier version of limewire it worked fine, it wasnt until i downloaded the latest version of limewire that i was screwed over. I cant find my firewall...i think i mightve but it didnt help so im not sure and yes the connections menu with all the users put a bunch of users b4 me, ive got cable internet and a fast computer so im just looking for ideas that can help fix this connection problem.

thnx in advance for any help

Disable or enable a through (open the port) on port 6346-8.

I'm pretty sure Windows2000 has a software firewall and if you have cable via router, gateway or other type of hardware with a built in firewall, the documentation should show you how to access the software interface to open the ports.

Also, many software firewall softwares only load your firewall settings into the firewall once. So if there is a power failure or the firewall hardware is turned on, the program must re-load the settings simply by being launched.

Alright. Do a file search on your harddrive. Search for "firewall" and if you find nothing from there, search for "fire".

If you find it, describe to us what the settings are and we'll try to walk you through opening the port.

Also, if you still have it, look at the instructions manual for your router, or at the very least, figure out the model number and then download the manual from your router's manufacturer's website.
