Default read this!! it may help you!!

you know your supposed to disable your firewall right? well i tried that and it didnt help me connect. i shut down every aspect of my firewall(using zonealarm BTW) and nothing. i thought i had some configuation problem that was over my head, so i got a buddy of mine to come check my problem and he thought that maybe if we uninstalled the firewall, it would connect then. well guess what, it worked. i recommend to anybody having connection trouble, to uninstall their firewalls (be sure to keep the install program) and see if they can connect afterwards. this is a good idea if you dont JUST HAVE TO HAVE a firewall(popup blocker is what i used it for). maybe the folks at limewire can help out with this.

This is not the only way to bypass your firewall. Depending on the software there are ways of connecting to LW and maintaining a functional firewall. Of cource if you can't figure it out you can always uninstall your firewall.

I tested LW with Zone Alarm it works without any problems...

Unistalling your firewall is no option, check your settings perhaps you have done something wrong. And try to force your IP (there is an option in LW) see what happens!

Do you think a firewall is only a good pop up blocker? Firewall protect you from all kings of crapware like spyware, trojans and some against viruses... but yes unistall it it download some crap (like a dialer), but who cares LW works...
