Default Keeps dropping out, help would be appreciated:)

I have recently installed LW and had connecting problems.

Im running XP Pro, LW 3.8.3, have disabled fire wall elements (Norman), have downloaded the beta version as suggested by "deep blue", have deleated the ".limewire" directory as to establish inital connection.

So here are my problems:

1. Once I have conected the green light goes between fair and excellent and then a notice normally appears saying i might have a bad internet concection or that i might need to change my fire wall . . . . which I have disconected.

2. When i become disconected, and i selcect connect from the file menu, it does nothing. If i repeat deleated the ".limewire" directory and then start up LW again I am able to re connect but must change my settings.

3. I have tried to change my port settings as well

I'm a little new to the game, so if you guys have any suggestions could you please try and explain step by step, thanx

Rawidi.

What is your connection speed? And are you on a network?

no, im not on a network, and im using a modem.

When i connect i usually connect at the 38kbps speed.

I don't think i have a connection problem, its just that after a while (5mins) my connection drops out. Why would that be?
