Disconnection Hang-ups on XP and ADSL I thought that "Disconnect" was a soft way of disconnecting urself from the Gnutella network without causing much disruption to the topology after you're gone, but yeah, people can still download if your internet connection is on. I have a problem realted to that, XP seems to hang-up after I disconnect and shut down LimeWire. I wouldn't even be able to manually disconnect my active internet connection. So I have to power-off my computer (which is the only way out). Any solutions? BTW I also use Zone Alram pro 4+. Thanks for any replies. |
I've got the very same problem on Linux with ISDN. I hope LimeWire will fix this soon. The code on their CVS server works for me. |
b_side--there is an option to either quit immediately or wait until transfers are completed. Try toggling that option. |
That didn't work for me. |
Didn't work for me either. I just realised that the previous version of LimeWire (3.6.15 - Nov 2003) didn't hang on to the Internet Connection after exit, so I could shut-down XP without any problem. Would I want to downgrade my 3.8.6 copy is the question! Downloads seem much faster in 3.8.6. |
