zone alarm prevents limewire during screensaver i have a allowed the limewire program in Zone Alarm to by pass the screen saver with the key to enable thru lock, but Lime wire still fails to get thru the firewall setup. What other feature must be enabled in ZA for this to happen?? |
As a first thought, are you allowing LimeWire to 'Launch on Startup' ? If so, try manually launching LW after all else has loaded and your internet connection is stable. |
No i do have Limewire configured to start upon startup... Now in my Zone Alarm 4.5 program i have many many numerous items that are or arn't allowed to run when the computer seeps, or goes to screen saver. Because of that Limewire's direct conection gets broken off my cable connection because of this safety feature. I have the one marked program limeshop.exe is allowed with a key but all my otherts and there are pleanty of strange ones like ASBROWSE.exe (?)... and FSG_4104.exe that I have no clue if they are part of Limeware or not. I suppose I could just keep adding these to the mix until I find the one I need, But thought someone out there might know. |
Read here > http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml down in the lower part... And, note the Add javaw.exe If that helps, please return and let us know, OK ? Also, I would definitely not recommend having any p2p client configured so that it launches on start-up... Always better to wait until other apps have 'cleared' and your connection is stable and 'available'. |
how to fix zone alarm problems uninstall zone alarm. for that matter, don't bother ever installing any port-blocking software on your computer. it protects you exactly "0" from outside crackers, though it seems to do a great job of screwing things up on the inside. get a real firewall like a router, or a linux box with two network cards and a switch. |
