CONNECTION, now that's a joke ok, i downloaded and installed Limewire 3.8.9. I've deleted the directory, port 6346 was blocked, so I changed the port to 49164(said to aim for a port between 49152 & 65535 in ALTERNATE Links), i have no idea if i'm behind a firewall (probably am), i'm using Windows XP Home Edition, and connected to my college's network. Still Limewire will not connect...can someone PLEASE help me? :( :( |
Sounds like you are doing all you can, but if your university admins are serious about blocking filesharing (ask around and see if that's true), there not much you could, or even should, do. There is still some slim thing--perhaps check out the firewall information here http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml |
can't connect at college sounds like you are behind an actual firewall. many universities have recently installed firewalls specifically to prevent filesharing. if this is the case, there's nothing you can do. don't bother with lime's "firewall" FAQ - it only addresses problems with port-blockers (which often call themselves "firewalls", though they aren't.) |
