not connected

I've really no idea what's oging on but my screen displays an error message"not connedted to the gnutella network. Not only does it display this message but it displays about 3 hundred all on a "stack" I have to hold "alt F4"for about five minutes straight to close them all. Also it will do this while I have an active internet connection although it will tell me specifically I do not.I have a 333mhz.intel celeron, windows 98,limewire 3.8.9,and alot of ram.

thanks for anything on this one.

If only!

What I meant by "lot's nof ram"is all that this machine will hold. That shouldn't be a problem as you said.I've had to re-format a couple of times and always downloaded a fresh copy of limewire, after I've re-installed windows 98.It takes me about 2-3 hours to get evrything working again(not counting downloads),so I'm not sure if re-installing will help or not.By the way...I call this machine "UNIVAC".

No luck

Ok,I tried where you said to click on and it said"Test page succesful".I think that will be a good thing. But I still get the same thing going on with all the errors piling up.hmm...By the way I looked at the dolphins you have...It hit me.You've read hitchhikers guide haven't you?;)

Well...If a firewall is only there if you have actively put it in and will survive multiple re-formats,then no I do not think I have one.I never installed such a thing anyhow and nobody else really gets into the guts of this thing like I do.
