connecting i've recently downloaded limewire to my computer (which runs on panther), but when i try and start the program up, down at the bottom left hand corner, where it shows how many files i'm sharing, the number just continually goes up. i can never search for files because the program perpetually shares more and more files (it will get up to 80,000 to 90,000 files) until i get frustrated with it and have to force quite. does anyone know how i can remedy this. do i need to shut something off on my computer? any help would be greatly appreciated. |
whoa! Are you sharing your entire home library or something? That's way too many. In LW, switch to the Library Panel and see what folders you are sharing. Click on the ones you don't want to share, and use the File Menu "Stop Sharing Folder" command. You can share that many, but it doesn't sound like you intended this. btw, LW on Panther will take about 1 hour to prepare 10 GB of files for sharing the first time ("hashing" the files). |
Thanks very much, that did the trick. I really appreciate the help. |
