![]() Greetings: I have a Powermac 9500\150, 48meg ram, 2gig HD, OS 9.1. I downloaded Limewire Basic and opened it with Stuffit. I installed it and when I go online and open it, I get a grey botton-less window that says "Welcome to the Limewire setup wizard. Limewire will guide you through a series of steps to configure Limewire for optimum performance". Behind this window is another window with the Limewire logo. At the right bottom it says "Loading shared files..." and this is as far as I can go with Limewire. I waited for an hour and still nothing comes up. I don't know if this means I can't connect or what. Can someone please help me with this problem? Thank you. Aubrey |

![]() Usually if LimeWire is not connect after a minute or two, it will not connect to Gnutella at all. The reason may be that your intenet connection does not allow you to use p2p networks (because you have a badly configured firewall or your internet provider doesn't want you to use gnutella). |

![]() Aubrey, trap_jaw is right about connections, but sounds like your LW is having trouble loading on OS 9. see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=23077 for more explanations. |

![]() Greetings: I read a post which said I should dump my preference folder for limewire. "/Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire. Delete directory and restart Limewire" I did, configured it for my system and then it loaded and I began downloading a program and Right in the middle of it, It said I needed more sources. The botton for 'more sources' never was highlighted for engagement to activate it and the downloading stopped. I am online via AOL, dial up modem 56K. Thank You. Aubrey |

![]() Greetings: The program downloaded. It ends with .sit and when I try to open it, it only appears on my Limewire file sharing program window and I can't do anything further with it. It won't open in stuffit. When I get info on it it says Limewire document. I engage the "LAUNCH" botton and still nothing. Does anyone know how I can open this program. Aubrey |

![]() Hello Aubrey The latest version of stuffit should open all .sit files when they are dragged onto the stuffit icon, or opened with stuffit's Open command. You may have to set the stuffit preferences to use stuffit for all internet file types. LimeWire's Launch button uses whatever the Finder sets as the proper application to use. Cheers |
