Port Forwarding On the port forwarding page for my router....do u type in the default gate way or my ip adress where it gives u that last blank?? |
the screenshots here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=23369 should help. On a Linksys, you just type in the machine's local IP and port (check TCP and UDP) on the port forwarding page. |
thanks...and what about the DMZ host someone told me to enable that |
hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhuuuuuuuuu??? ? ? ? |
Forget DMZ as it opens all ports and expose you to internet worms. Moreover I found the DMZ hosts in Linksys routers to be working poorly. Bonne chance |
well now.........how do i disable it? |
you put a 0 ie: 192.168.1.0 in your dmz tab (if it is a linksys router, of course) bonne chance |
Im not sure what to type in for my ip adress on the port forwarding page i clicked the DHCP table and it gives me the one im connecteing to upstairs and my own.....(WIRELESS) |
You have to choose between a static IP given by the router or a dynamic one (DHCP) that will change sometimes and make port forward useless. I copied a part of one of my old post: To get a static address (much better for setting port forwarding): http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm To open port 6346 on router and make port fowarding: http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm This site is great and much more efficient that I would be explaining things once by once to you. Bonne chance  |
thanks alot! |
