ISP Has Blocked Port 6346

My ISP recently upgraded their equipment and decided to block port 6346. Is there any way I can attach and download from another port. If so, how is this done?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Salut, go in options -advanced - port and change it. Click apply and verify that you open port chosen in your firewall.

Bonne chance :)

That did not work

I changed the port as recommended and it still did not work. It says connecting yet still does not connect. I can browse the Internet through LimeWire so I don't know where the problem lies.

Yukai! (rodger in japanese) Hmm if you are on windows, try bearshare lite available there http://www.bearshare.com/lite/ on mac, try acquisition available there: http://acquisitionx.com/ on linux, GTK-Gnutella available at http://gtk-gnutella.sourceforge.net/., change the default port to something else on those clients. If it doesn't work, it is because of your ISP, not LW. Call them to make things clear or simply switch to a less stupid provider if possible. If you call them, tell them that gnutella has many legitimate purposes (family/friends sharing, backup for broken cds, legitimate content, new independent artists promotion etc, etc).

Ciao

Yukai? I always thought it was iokai...

Salut Murasame! Well listening to the anime series of Evangelion I thought they were saying Yukai.... I just did a google search for iokai and yukai and iokai yielded 11 000 results while yukai got 99 000 results. I'm no japanese expert though ;)

Huck have you called your ISP and asked why they are blocking the port? Sometimes they can unblock it for you so you don't have any problems. Just don't say "I need port #### unblocked so I can download music from LimeWire" LOL because they may shut you down completely. Just say something like, "I am using a VPN through work that uses port #### and since you upgraded your equipment I can't access my work information. Can you unblock it for me?" 9 times out of 10 they won't have a problem unblocking it as long as you have a good excuse. I know this becuase I used to for for Road Runner ISP and would work close with the Internet Security and Abuse people who handle which ports are blocked. Anyways hope that helps you out! Lemme know!
